last day of the year

it is the last day of the year, i just hope the next one will be better for my family.

In my first post i did say that my life was a little like a roller coaster, well at the moment i feel it is on free fall.  For the last week my husband has had a bit of a relapse he has only been able to come down stairs for a couple of hours a day as he is finding it difficult to focus and he seems to have lost his balance, some times i really loose faith in doctors. They give him all this medication and then take it off him again which makes things a lot worse than they need to be.....
    But on the better side i have been able to get up to date with my house work things like washing paintwork down and changing curtains in the dining room, what they say about keeping busy is so true, i have even cleaned my oven the job i hate above everything else.
Sorry i have gone on a bit, but i do find it helps to have a bit of a rant every now and again,lol
 i am going to have a cup of tea and sit in my summer house that always helps me get things into perspective, so bye till nest time when i should be a bit more upbeat.

make-up and carrots

Today i went shopping, and i went an my own which was really nice as it gave me a chance to browse around the shops, i was able to to take my time with nobody to rush me.  I thought as i was on my own i would treat myself to a meal then i remembered that i could not eat that much so it would be a waste of money and food so instead i treated myself to some new make-up.

 When i got home i went into the garden and decided to see how the carrots i am growing were doing this is my first ever carrot.

I know its looks impressive, my family thought it was the funniest thing they had seen and i had to agree with them as this photo does make it look a lot bigger than it really is, but i am having better luck with my tomatoes, they will be ready soon.

 Well i am going to have my hot chocolate now and go to bed. .

hospitals, doctors and hairdressers

Yesterday i had to go and have my first check up for my gastric band, the doctor was really pleased with my progress i had lost 28 pounds, so in the next few weeks i will have an  appointment to have my first fill which i am not looking forward to.  When i got home there was a phone call from my husbands doctor, who told him to come off one the tablets he is taking because of the side effects, so hopefully in the next few weeks he will start to feel better.
   Today i went to the hairdressers and had my hair cut into a different style, which i really like.

It is only a short walk from where i live, but going home i decided to go the long way as i love to look at the country side.

This path is known locally as the black path and it goes nearly all round the village, it is a lovely walk. I am now going to have a nice mug of hot chocolate and go to bed, it seems to have been a very long day.

Have not has such a good weekend, my husband has not been well (long term illness) so has been in bed most of the time, so not much has been done.  Though it did give me chance to tidy up in my summer house, here is a few pictures of the inside, the first one i realised that i need some colour on the walls,

lord of the dace

My granddaughter goes to irish dancing, all week she has been going to dance camp and today the dance school put a show on. She is only 6 and when i saw her dancing she looked all grown up it bought a tear to my eye, i was so proud of her. The last dance they did was lord of the dance and to watch her was a joy, she put her heart and soul into it , she never stopped smiling, i can not wait to see her in another show.

Yesterday i had a lovely day, my son agreed to take me to our local town, it was a real hot sunny day and because it was market day it had a really nice holiday feel ,every one smiling and no one seemed to be in a rush to get any where its surprising what a bit of sunshine can do.  I managed to get every thing i wanted which is unusual for me normally i come back with out the thing i went for.

   Because the day was so nice when i got back i decided to clean the windows, and when i looked at the view from the bedroom window i thought how lucky i was to live where i did. I took photo, hope you like it. I think i may have caught the house work bug as the last few days i have actually enjoyed my chores, so there is hope for me yet.
